As expected, the Plan v1 rapidly changed! Before heading off on the sailing adventure the Ootnics decided to do a bit of pre-adventure exploring. A trip to Oz to see family and friends was in order and given we were in the neighbourhood we thought we should pop into Auckland to see Bin and Noodle and new arrival baby Ella. Wally mentioned that, given we would be flying over the Middle East anyway, we should stop in Dubai and meet baby Sophia, see Natalie and play some golf with Chris!
Once back in Europe our progress East was happily slowed by the unexpected arrival of various friends ... Duncan in Marbella, Asha in Herradura, Mike and Claire in Torrevieja, Bin, Noodle, Ella, Jona and Courtney in Calpe, Tim in San Antonio and Aad in Palma .. A hectic summer to say the least!
Having originally planned to cross to the Caribbean in November with the ARC, we decided to postpone until Nov ‘12 and spend an extra summer in the Med, far too much to see to go rushing off! A winter of projects, exploring with friends and tennis in 20oC sunshine and we’re ready for the off again :-)
